Transesterification Vitrimers for Photopolymer Additive Manufacturing: Catalyst, Exchange Kinetics, Creep and Reprocessing

Segurola, Juan

2026-09-28 · Report · Version 0.5

Photocurable transesterification vitrimers combine a permanent crosslink density with thermally activated topology exchange, enabling stress relaxation, reshaping, repair and reprocessing. The engineering tension is that faster exchange improves reprocessability but can also increase creep or reduce dimensional stability in service. This review focuses on catalyst compatibility with photopolymerisation, exchange kinetics, stress relaxation, thermal stability and the evidence required to distinguish reversible topology rearrangement from degradation.
