Wavelength-Orthogonal Multistage Photopolymerisation: Independent Reactions, Spectral Crosstalk and Sequential Property Programming
Segurola, Juan
Multistage photopolymerisation can decouple shape creation from a later chemical or property-changing step, but nominally different lamp wavelengths do not by themselves prove orthogonality. This review distinguishes spectral separation, kinetic separation and true chemical independence; defines crosstalk tests; and identifies the evidence needed to show that stage one does not prematurely consume the functionality required by stage two. Examples include visible/UV sequential polymerisations, orthogonal post-print modification and wavelength-programmed 3D/4D functionality.
